Case Study - Multinational Cereal Manufacturer.
The customer already had an AFE IC2000® SCADA system connected to the process which was used operationally to run the plant. This however was not connected to the packing area. There were also QA stations on three floors where manual product tests are performed on product.EGS implemented a Cimplicity® SCADA system to collect the required data. This collects data from the existing SCADA system, a new I/O system to collect data from the packing area and three data entry terminals located at the QA stations on each floor. All the data collected is stored in a Microsoft® SQL Server database.
Data collected are as follows -
- Plant Alarms
- Operator Set Point Changes
- Trends of temperatures and pressures
- Start / Stops and reasons for stop in the packing area
- Results of various QA tests performed at the QA station
- Material Usage
A full set of reports based on the above data were provided allowing data historical data to be reviewed. Some reports are provided using Cimplicity (eg trends) and some were provided using web based reports.
