Case Study - Tanker Lorry System
A tanker fleet has been adapted by EGS Technologies to incorporate Coriolis Mass Flow measurement of product delivery. The previous manual system required the operator to open and close the correct valves on the tanker, start the delivery pump, and go to weighbridges before and after delivery in order to record the amount delivered. The new system automates this process - confirming with the operator the delivery point, product and delivery amount before opening and closing the correct valves automatically.
After delivery is complete, the system creates a printed receipt for the customer - the delivery amount having been accurately measured by the flowmeter. The driver no longer has to use public weighbridges to calculate the delivery amount saving both time and fuel.
Delivery details such as customer, date/time, duration and product are recorded internally by the system. A seperate application running on a standard WindowsTM PC, and use of a data key allows this data to be imported into the office systems once per week for a full delivery report to be filed back at head office.
